What E10 and E20 mean
E10 fires when the washer cannot fill with enough water in the expected time. E20 fires when it cannot drain in the expected time. Both are timeout-style codes tied to a specific stage of the cycle rather than a diagnosis of the exact part at fault.

- Reset the control board
Press Pause/Cancel twice to stop the cycle and clear residual water, then unplug the washer for three to five minutes before restarting.
- For E20, clean the drain filter and hose
Locate and clear the coin trap or drain filter, and check the drain hose for kinks or blockage along its length.
- Check the drain hose depth
Confirm it is not inserted more than about 8 in into the standpipe, which can restrict drainage and mimic a pump fault.
When to call a professional
If E10 persists with a confirmed open, unrestricted water supply, or E20 persists with a clean filter and clear hose, have a technician check the inlet valve or the drain pump respectively.
Stop and call a qualified appliance technician or electrician if you find scorched or melted wiring, smell burning, see water that has reached electrical components, or if the fault returns immediately after a repair. Never bypass a safety device — thermal fuses, door interlocks and flood switches fail for a reason, and defeating one converts a broken appliance into a fire or flood risk.
